Where is the geographical area of the tour? In Tuscany region.
Let yourself be enchanted by the Apuan Alps, a part of the Apennine mountain range, where we will arrive through the city of Carrara. Carrara is the most famous city in the world for the extraction of marble.
The tour will take you with the van to the Fantiscritti Quarries (the ones where Michelangelo worked) and then you will continue with a land rover jeep to reach the top where you will be surrounded by breathtaking views and you will have the explanation from a local guide regarding the processing of marble.
The tour will continue in Colonnata a tiny village known for Lardo di Colonnata, a specialty that provides energy for the body to the local workers; the right food to accompany with a good local wine. You will see the process of work of this specialty and we will stop for a typical lunch.
After the lunch we continue our tour with a short visit in Pietrasanta, an important town for celebrated sculptors, very interesting for “La Gipsoteca” the place where the plaster reproductions are kept.
On every tour I give you an understanding of local history, curiosities and traditions I show you the main sights and places for photo-stop.
Please note that in some areas of the historic town going for a walk and visit will be more enjoyable rather than sightseeing from the vehicle.
The tour generally starts from Livorno port or from the port of La Spezia, Carrara or Piombino.
The departure point can be also customised according to your needs (hotel for example). The duration of the transfer depends on the departure location.

We begin the tour with Livorno, an almost unknown cosmopolitan city of the Renaissance founded by the Medici. Livorno will amaze you with its two fortresses, the central market, the Venice district, a prominent promenade, the Terrazza Mascagni, and the panoramic point Montenero where the Santuario of the Virgin of the Graces is located.
MONTALCINO, PIENZA AND MONTEPULCIANO
Despite the distance of the journey, we will touch places that will leave you breathless. We are talking about the area of the Chianti area in the province of Siena renowned worldwide for its grapes and olive-tree hills. The villages that we visit are internationally famous for BRUNELLO the king of the red wine, NOBILE another special red wine and PECORINO cheese.
